My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

As an 18 year old college student, I am increasingly curious about the world and the different cultures that co-exist. As a child I was exposed into the cultures of my parents while growing up in an American society. As I grew up, I was introduced into many other cultures around the world through classes and interactions with my peers at school that have different backgrounds. While some might think this normal, to me it was something special, and I was always amazed at the different kinds of superstitions, beliefs, methods, and customs. I always wanted to know more. I often wish, if only I were able to introduce the excitement and how intriguing other cultures were to my peers through photos, but unfortunately, I do not own a camera that is capable of taking such pictures; the best one I have is the one on my phone. This scholarship is my chance to become capable of it. I still love to take pictures of many things, ranging from peaceful images of family time to pictures of an active party, as well as still photos of clouds(which at one point I took pictures of every single day). Pictures mean a lot to me, they are marks that I bring with me to share and to look back on and enjoy.
