So after being in the UK for 2 months I have finally branched out and yesterday stood on Scandinavian soil for the first time.
Helsinki - a place surrounded by christmas trees and where reindeer is a common item on the menu. Market Square on the shipping harbour didn't live up to expectations but a short walk revealed beautiful waters, albeit with very expensive beer. The night got better with lots of sun, a beer garden only open in the summertime and then a pub serving cheap pints but ridiculously over-priced burgers.
Am now on the Allegro fast train headed to St. Petersburg about to cross the Finnish/Russian border. Hopefully border control isn't too hectic!
