Fire Alarms & Beer

UNITED KINGDOM | Sunday, 26 May 2013 | Views [195]

So I have now been in the UK for one month! It has gone so fast!

Renting in a sharehouse has certainly been an experience (dad you would not survive with the level of noise!).

Example: I came home last night to a mini party of randoms lighting up in our only lounge room... One drunk/high partier then decided to pull the fire alarm (because that looks so much like the light switch right?!). But no worries because the problem was fixed with duct tape!

Example: the central heating and the hot water run on the same system so we have to decide between cold showers or full blast heaters during summer!

Overall all though it has been a good experience!

On another note, yesterday I attended a beer and cider festival in Cambridge. The sun was shining and it was a lovely day. I even drank almost 1/3 of an ale! Then moved onto foreign lagers and a pub. I did get the souvenir pint glass though!

This week will hopefully entail lots of work (gotta make rent someway! And as mum noted that is not from being a prostitute working girl!) and perhaps a trip to Brighton. I shall see how British beaches match up to Aussie beaches!
