After taking a short course in documentary film making (with emphasis on the theoretical approach) in my studies of Culture and Communication, I decided I wanted to get into the film industry. I started my own organizations with the purpose of encouraging youth to disseminate culture to the public. So for the past year I've been producing (and directing a little) a documentary on Icelandic ghost stories. But I neither got to experience the participatory mode nor being a D.O.P. which has been my dream for so long.
Then, only one week ago, I saw the perfect opportunity to get off my ass and try out this new way of film making that I wanted so badly, when I saw your ad on Facebook. I was about to go to the music festival Iceland Airwaves so I might as well document it! With 4 days to shoot and ... what I thought were three days to edit but turned out to be two since you are on the other side of the planet ... I started working on this. Of course the audio system in my computer crashes (which is bad when you're working on a music related video) and the PR explosion for my other film just so happens to take place at the same time ...
But here I am!
With an hour to spare!
Enjoy.
