My Scholarship entry - Plantation Country in Aerochrome

I'm Erin Nelson, a senior photography student at the Kansas City Art Institute, who is pursuing a career in photojournalism. I chose to go to KCAI because I wanted to develop my artist voice first for photography. Now that I am a soon to be graduate looking into grad schools, I am looking to learn how to develop my storytelling abilities. This scholarship is a perfect opportunity for me to learn not only storytelling through photography, but also life lessons as an international photojournalist. I am the type of person that believes you can only learn so much in a classroom and then you need real life experience. This would be that experience for me. It would also be a great honor to be working side by side with Jason and learning the ropes of this kind of photography first hand. If chosen, I would make the most of the experience and work above what is expected of me.
