After having several cancerous lumps removed from his skin, it was found that my grandfather had stage five skin cancer and it was beginning to spread internally. In an attempts to slow the process, his entire left breast had to be removed.

When he was younger, my grandfather served in the Korean War; he witnessed the detonation of several hydrogen bombs, which in turn, exposed him to deadly amounts of radiation. The younger photo of himself, as well as his medal, are a constant reminder of who he once was and who he is today.
