My name is Lucy and I'm coming from the small Balkan country of Bulgaria - a little piece of heaven in South-Eastern Europe that combines many different types of landscape, a huge amount of rare flora and fauna and a really interesting history in itself.
I grew up in a town named Vratsa, surrounded by beautiful mountain, called Vratchansky Balkan. Growing up, I became passionate about the picturesque landscape around me - I started exploring many wild places that no one has ever known about.
That's how my passion for photography appeared - I was so inspired by everything I saw around me that I couldn't just let that inspiration go away - I just had to show it to the world. So I started taking photos of everything around me - from the sky, massive cliffs, rivers, to the tiniest plants and animals.
I believe life without dreams is not life; it's just existence and nothing more. One of my biggest dreams is to travel around the world and experience as much of the natural world as possible. Winning your scholarship would be a dream come true for me - travelling to one of the most amazing places in the world and learning from a professional would be the best experience in my life.
