Travel means more than just be on the way. It is about discovering, dreaming, exploring, meeting, making progress. Yes, progress in many ways like self development, communication, trust, what you take and leave from people and different places.
Not far away from famous Cuzco city there is a small place called Pisaq. Well, because of the mass tourism this place became a market place. Every day in the main square from the early morning you have various business men opening their shops, putting all good and occupying main square. Nobody is in rush, they know tourist dont wake up early. They need to wake up, pack, wait for tour bus and hit the road down for shopping. Its a bit irony cause same goods in Cuzco cost twice less, but who cares its all about what recommends your travel agency. Also this place have an amazing ancient Inca's park. But also, after seeing Maccu Piccu people lost interest in seeing anything more.
Let me tell it shortly this mysterious park story. There are two ways to reach main old city of this park. You get your bus, drive up the hill for 10minutes, walk to main sun temple. And there is an another way - 1 hour walk throw ancient garden places and all the way up to the hill. And the most amazing discovery - then you climb all the way up you going to meet just few people over there. Mostly local people. People who are on the way to play flutes at the touristic part of this park and on the way to their home. Home. This home is an amazing place left for local people. Heard all the stories about this and was even more happier that had no opportunity to see it. Following the small mountains path you will reach small village there people still mostly speak Ketcuah and living like their used to live hundred years ago. And nobody would go there. Because local people respect this and would not let any tourist to come with their cameras. Respect for privacy and people.
All this amazing experience finished with Carlos - music teacher of Pisaw music school. Meeting him was like a an amazing dream - Carlos brought us to the same park in the evening, on the half way to the mountain. He had his various traditional Peruvian flutes and many stories about life, friendship, culture and relationship - things that value most for people. His music, stories and experiences let us to understand and feel the society thousand times more than any guided tour from any agency. Never forget that even simple hello and smile could lead to an amazing discovery.
