My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Malta | Friday, July 5, 2013 | 5 photos
I started taking pictures because of my father, who was an amateur photographer. He used to buy bulks of equipment and cameras, he never shot a single good photograph. So I decided to try myself, without worry too much about the cameras, just focusing on the image. I went to art college then to film university, searching for the secret of shooting a good image. I think i found what i am looking for, form and narrative. Taking pictures has always been a constant activity in my life, in the background but always there. It relaxes me and help me meditate on life and things. Photography while travelling gives me the best satisfaction. Since i often travel alone, the camera is my best friend, it gives me ideas for walks, pushes me in exploration of secret alleys and corners, it forces me to observe the place from various points of view and with a deep concentration. So here I am, applying for this scholarship, as it would be a unique chance to learn the real life of a travel photographer, the technical aspects and the day to day struggles, and see, after the experience, if i might become one some day..
