‘Plymouth A Memorable English City’
EVERY summer, the city of Plymouth receives thousands of tourists and English language students from across the world. I was enrolled for eight weeks intensive academic English course and two weeks IELTS preparation course. Apart from getting English qualifications, students carry with them lot of good memories of Plymouth. Following are three reasons why the city of Plymouth would be always memorable to me.
First, the environment of the city is unforgettable. Plymouth has a rich maritime history and the sea is so beautiful. During my stay in Plymouth, I spent at least one hour every day sitting by the sea. It was amiable and peaceful moment to me. The soft sound of waves and fresh air from the sea enable me to have deep quiet time – a time for meditation and reflection. Secondly, the three months I spent with my host family in Plymouth are unforgettable. The relationship with my host family was productive. The experience with my host family had taken away any king of stereotype over British people. The atmosphere in my host family was very friendly in such way I felt at home. Third, the atmosphere at the Mayflower College and its quality of English language courses are excellent. The quality of teaching at Mayflower College was excellent. The teacher encourages us to express freely and to transfer theory into practice in realistic situations. Each lesson was effective, motivating and pleasant
The pleasant living ambience in the city, the hospitality of my host families, the atmosphere and quality of teaching at Mayflower College allow one to declare the city of Plymouth as one of British most memorable cities. To those who are planning to visit or already visiting England, it is worthwhile to drop in Plymouth even for short while.
