Didn't manage to get hold of guest house in Luang Prabang so decided to wing it again. Had a chilled out morning in Chiang mai, before taking a red truck to the airport for our flight to Laos.
The scenery from the aeroplane looked amazing lush green mountains for as far as I could see & the airport in luang prabang was in the middle of a stunning mountain range. We shared a taxi with a French couple to the main street. We arrived at the guest house to find the price was doubled & very expensive.....we carried on walking to the main street but everything was booked up or very expensive. Finally found a guest house for £7 a night but didn't feel totally safe & worried about bed bugs!! Dumped our bags & head out to find a better place to stay for the following night. We finally found a lovely little place tucked down a quiet road & the owner promised to keep a room for us for the following night. Feeling relieved we found a place for dinner, turns out vegetarian spring rolls have pork in them here....argh! Not sure I like this place. Headed back to our room but it was so noisy we only managed a few hours sleep!
