My Photo scholarship 2011 entry
Argentina | Saturday, November 5, 2011 | 5 photos
As a photographer, I usually work to expose the beauty in everyday life to open the window of observation for my audience. However, a greater challenge I discovered during my year-long travels in Argentina was the task of accurately capturing the aesthetic of an already beautiful object or scene. The country of Argentina is scattered with natural gems, and as I explored the country, I was inspired to attempt to capture their extravagance. This album consists of shots of Iguazú National Park, Perito Moreno National Park, El Chalten, a desert shot on the way to Los Alerces National Park, and landing near Tierra del Fuego National Park.
As I progress into my future as a college freshman in Switzerland, I hope to further develop my travel photography skills to allow others the same luxury of viewing the oddities and breathtaking grandeur of our world. There is so much magic on our planet and nothing pushes the adrenaline through my veins like seeing a photographic print that expresses that splendor. I hope the opportunity in South Africa will help hone my skills and help develop my photographic eye so that I can continue to share my view with the world.
