Stray cats are a common sight on the island of Vernazza, Cinque Terre. They are particularly noticeable around the fresh deliveries of fruit and vegetables.

Cars are not permitted on the islands of Cinque Terre and so their livelihoods rely on the use of boats and sea transport. Boats are especially important in the transportation of fruit and vegetables between islands.

Vernazza, Cinque Terre is a quaint and colourful town. This is thanks to the prohibition of cars and the seaside feel of the islands.
