EGYPT | Saturday, 3 May 2014 | Views [190] | Scholarship Entry

I will never forget the day that more than thousand protesters were in Raba' sit in in Egypt supporting their president Mohamed Morsy.I used to go to Raba' sit in to cover the daily events of them.I was there on 13 August,2013 and met some ex-ministers and activists there and spent nice there with a German colleague works for a German newspaper and we left Raba' at 9 pm while people were stubborn in their sit in.
the following day,Tuesday 14 August ,2013 I received a call at 6 am telling me that security forces surrounding Raba' sit in ,firing it and shooting people in a random way.I reached Raba' sit in at 10 am because of all of the taxis refused to go there as they were scared to be there.I tried to enter the sit in ,but army soldiers were everywhere in all the entrances.I was lucky to find a street where I found myself next to police men and stood watching the massive attacks on the innocent protesters, protesters' supplies were completely burnt and blundered by police men.I found a way full of burnt things that lead inside the camp.I found people are scared from the attacks on them.then anyone of the protesters tried to flee was arrested by the army and police men.by 4 pm ,security fired Raba' mosque and burnt a lot of corpses and took other corpses that people couldnt take with them while they were fleeing.by 6 pm Raba' sit turned to be a hell.I left back to down town with all the killings' scenes in my mind.the following day I got news that at least 400 corpses were taken by protesters to Al Iman mosque in Nasr city.I was surprised to find many corpses fully burnt alive by security the previous day and others were shot .the preacher in the mosque asked media and people not to be in large numbers as there is no refirigartors to keep the corpses and the weather was too hot to keep the corpses inside the mosque. An old man with crying in front of one of the corpses " My son!! he is an engineer.I brought him up very well.they shot him.My son!!" then I watched many other families crying about their sons .then went back with my colleagues full of despair.
