Landmass - Isle of Skye
I am a visual Artist working in photography and painting/drawing. I graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Photography.
My work deals with different elements based on remote landscapes; the spirit of place, traces of the land and the sublime. All explored through a series of prints and photographs. Within certain remote places there is a feeling of powerful atmosphere and through my work I invite the viewer to feel the powerful presence of the landscape and the textures and marks that we do not necessarily notice.
I am very passionate about capturing the idea of place and remote lands so I am constantly travelling to new places to seek out inspiration for new work and capturing the intensity of place. This year I have made projects as Artist in Residence all around the Northern Isles of Scotland, Iceland and Italy. Next year I am Artist in Residence throughout the year in the Faroe Islands, Isle of Eigg, Greenland, Ireland and Norway. For me the onlu way I continue to make work is to keep traveling to new places to capture them and put this atmosphere across to the viewer. I am very dedicated to my practise and projects and will continue to be so!
