My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

For the past five years I have been travelling the world and have become obsessed with photography. I have been greatly encouraged by friends and strangers and have realised that this is the career path I need to take.

I have a large number of amazing photos from my travels but after living in Brixton for only one year, I have seen the culture and general livelihood change which makes for an interesting story.

I’m am by no means a professional photographer but I have a good eye and an exciting desire to get the best shot.

There is a lot to learn and the benefits I would get from this scholarship would not only help my career and skills as a photographer, it would also be an invaluable life experience, which would give me another layer of understanding of the world.

I want to take photos for a reason, to tell a story, to make people learn something or to just provoke a thought.

The past 10 years of my adult life have been spent being creative and figuring out what I want to do. Now it’s time to do what I love, make a career out of it and do it well.
