USA | Sunday, October 26, 2014 | 5 photos
Hi, my name is Ryne Wellman. I am a photographer/ filmmaker from the south suburbs of Chicago. Ive had the privilege of working on independent shoots and several grant funded documentaries. With a crew of 5 photographers I was able to be the leader. We worked on a documentary funded by the National science foundation. I was responsible to tell a story through the eyewitness accounts of Chicago public school students as they participated in The Scientists for tomorrow after school program. We documented the children on their field trip, participation in activities they had so much fun learning environmental sciences. The project raised public awareness and helped the after school program receive over 250,000$ in grants from the National science foundation. Im Currently looking for new and exciting opportunities. I feel i should be chosen because of my creativity, ingenuity, diversity and my ability to raise public interest for professional shoots. This year hasn't been easy on my friends an family, i've been helping my Girlfriend take care of her mother that has been fighting breast cancer. Haven't been able to shoot as much. I really could use a blessing. When i was in grade school i remember my grandfather showing me magazines from National Geographic, he knew i loved nature. That introduction to wildlife photography is what kickstarted my journey. Ever since then ive been ready to go. Please let me be a part of this awesome project, i need this mentorship with Jason Edwards.
