A private collection of tools and equipment used to create the various ships in Grimstad. The unique collection has been collected for over 80 years. And it is today owned by the shipping family, Bergshaven, which have always had a strong presence in the city.

The old ship factory, today known as “the Name shed” by the locals still stands there today. It proudly shows names of ships that were created at this location. The yellow building is today a public museum, while the red is privately owned by one of the old shipping families still living in Grimstad.

The Reddal canal created in the 19th century to make room for farming in the inlands, as well used to transfer timber down to the coast. Now it’s a popular swimming and bathing spot for teenagers, as it offers cliffs they can jump from, up to 12 meters.
