My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Hi,
my name is Edoardo Lucci, I'm 37 and I work in a chocolate factory.
My father, a chocolatier himself, had the passion for photography and he handed it on me since I was a child.
When I was 8 my parents gave me a very basic camera.
I was a deeply introverted child and thanks to that little plastic miracle began to tear down the emotional wall that separated me from the outside world and the thousands of people living in it.
I've always been in love with photographs and stories about far away people and places. To me they represent a window opened to exciting worlds full of adventure and mystery.
Thanks to the continuous observation of pictures from nature and social reportage I began to develop my personal taste for photography, driven by an instinct arising from the belly and still directing the lens of my camera.
The desire to discover and tell through pictures is the best medium to express my inner self. I strongly wish to turn my passion into a job that gives me the chance of making people aware about nature and the different cultures of the world since I’m convinced that only through comparison one can achieve inner balance.
