About edie

My name is Edie and by day I take pictures of peoples insides as a CT Tech. When I vacation, my usual goal is to do something that most people wouldn't do, get to know the people of the area while doing it and document my trip through photos, video and writing.  To me, sharing my experiences is every bit as important as the experience itself.  The world is such a vast place and there is so much to learn. I prefer to not live in a bubble, but rather step beyond my comfort zone at times to become a better person. I think so much time is wasted by trying to not stick out, trying to be a cookie cutter person, that people don't take the time to find out who they are or what they stand for. I believe everyone is special, everyone is just as important as the next and that people should treat others the same as they wish to be treated. By exposing yourself to other cultures, you become vulnerable, naked. In a sense you become a new person, no one can have any biases about you, you can forge a new being or perhaps be who you really feel you are but were afraid to in your safe and secure world. Everyone should experience this feeling, even if it is just once. You don't have to go any place exotic. Leaving your city or state and doing something with people you have never met before works just as well. I guarantee, if you do it once, it will become addictive. It will become a way of life. So here's to life, and the way we want to live it.
