My Photo scholarship 2011 entry
Ecuador | Friday, October 7, 2011 | 5 photos
Travelling to one of the poorest region of the world had a huge impact on my perception of life. The trip gave me a chance to realise that the obsession to make more MONEY, to have better THINGS, more THINGS is wrong. Life should not concentrate on a realise of a new iphone!
When I was photographing in Ecuador I didn’t think about taking great photos or taking part in photo competitions. I thought about the people I see and how I want to show them to my friends/viewers - so they do not only see the poor people but the good people and their beautiful souls too.
In my life photography and travelling naturally come together. One can not reach perfection without another. How I photograph places I visit has an impact on people, on what they think about a place they’ve never seen with their eyes. Through my photos I want to show people beautiful places but what’s more important - I want to show ordinary people in the way that will make viewers stop and think about their lives.
My passion started about a year ago. That’s when I realised I really liked photography. And You will ask what I like about it. The answer is simple: I like the viewer’s reaction, the result of all the discomfort I have to go through to get the shot, the feeling of a job well done.
There is a long way before me and a lot of things to learn and discover. I believe that with your help I can improve my perception of life and people.
Why should I be the WINNER? Because I care for who&what I photograph.
