Reflection: The glass reflection of the mountains on Karakorum lake highlighted the pristine beauty and starkness of the landscape. I trekked precariously around the lake with my camera and tripod and nervously into the marsh to find the best angle for the reflection.

Layers: I love this photo because the foreground, centre and background all have interesting elements. I felt I captured the lonesome life by the lake with this curious Bactrian camel. I used black and white because I wanted to highlight the light and dark of the camel’s fur, the shadows of the clouds on the mountain and also the blinding white of the snow and the fluffy clouds.
