I never go abroad. The furthest place i've been gone is Pontianak, West borneo, Indonesia. Then i went to several places in Indonesia like Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bali. That was a beautiful moments to me.
Well, i live in Yogyakarta. It is one of cultural tourism destination in Indonesia. And tourism here is now growing up. We have many hotels and many attraction which can't be seen in other place. But i think, because it is my hometown and i never live in other place for a long time, and i usually living here, i feel my home town isn't that interesting. That was change after i met an American tourist one day in my intership in Tamansari.
I met Nicole, her name, when i worked for my internship as a tour guide in Tamansari.
Tamansari is a place where the Sultan's relaxing, meditation. Tamansari means beautiful garden, because it filled with many various flowers, and sorrounded by fruits garden.
It has Pemandian, a place that have 3 pools inside. One pool for the wives, one pool for childrens, and one pool just for the Sultan and the choosen wife.
Tamansari has a mosque, the place where Sultan sholat ( praying in Islam). It is also a fort sorrounded by an artificial lake, and it can get by a secret tunnel bacause at that time Indonesia was in colonialism by Netherland.
Sultan usually have a fruit party in that place too. In fullmoon night, there is a dance performance for sultan and his family. But, Tamansari just used by Sultan the first until Sultan the third. After that, Tamansari was damage and suffered by Java war. Now it is being "adopted' by UNESCO.
When i told the story, Nicole said to me that i have a precious thing that some other places don't have. she gave me amazing glances and said that his grandfather was a dutchman, before he moves to USA, he went to Indonesia as a soldier. Until now, he likes to eat sambal (such a sauce) and kerupuk ( such a crackers). Because of him, she wanted to visit Indonesia at first. But, after knew about Indonesia more, she wanted to visit Indonesia (especially Yogya and Bali) because these two place is an art city which she likes to live in because she is an artist and want to learn more about painting.
After i heard that from her, i think a lot. And finally i realize that i live in a beautiful city that everyone who visit adore. i'll never forget the day that an American tourist told me about that.
