Making a living in South East Asia

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Indonesia | Saturday, January 12, 2013 | 5 photos

As far as my memory goes I can remember my dad was almost inseparable with his camera. Most of the pictures he had ever taken were black and white, that’s how I remember my childhood, through a lens of a Zenit 35mm SLR. I guess that’s how my passion for photography started, with curiosity how life’s moments can be captured so easily and live on.. when I was 20 I went to London, before I realised 8 years passed. I have met some fantastic people, graduated from University. Unfortunately modules I chose had nothing to do with Photography. There was always this incredibly pervasive urge for doing something more creative. That's when I started travelling. Across South East Asia, India, Nepal, North America and finally Australia, taking thousands of pictures and learning.. Now I want to learn more and do something that I have passion for. I also want to leave something behind.. In form of a picture.
I’m currently living and looking to start a new life in Sydney, Australia, hopefully involving photography. Not sure if this is my place in this world, not sure I will ever find it, I’m just glad some old black and white photos will still be with me wherever I decide to go.
