Drove from Twizel to Mt Cook.
Walked to the Tasman Glacier, saw the lake with floating ice bergs and the 'blue' lakes. Beautiful hot clear day. Spectacular Mt Cook. Stopped off in the village.
Stopped off at Lake Pukaki and the view point of Mt Cook. Stunning turquoise lake, just as I remembered it from 2 years earlier.
Back to Lake Tekapo, this time in the daytime, again to see the beauitul colour of the lake and the Church of the Good Shepherd. A shame not to be able to stay here (very busy and fully booked!) but it would not have been as nice as the place I stayed two years ago with Mum - The Chalet Boutique Hotel on the lakefront.
Onwards to Geraldine and the lovely Rawhiti Backpackers. A very quiet and comfortable place to stay with everything I needed for a good sleep!
