My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Hi! my name is Dustin Lalik, I am a 22 year old bachelor of architecture and photography is a passionate hobby of mine. I have been shooting for 5 or so years, although only managed to invest in my new canon SLR just over a year ago, and it hasn't left my side since. My love for travel started at a young age, being born in Australia and having relatives in Canada meant I was fortunate to do several trips to North America. Last year I had the amazing opportunity to do an exchange to a Texas university, and the journal I have submitted is my personal documentation of my travels throughout the USA's vast and diverse regions. My photography is very subject driven, I feel as if I have a lot of room for improvement in terms of the technical side of photography, though I have always felt as if I strive to put myself in out of the ordinary situation and places. I love that Being able to shoot and document my travels allows for those memories to be shared with friends, family and strangers while also ensuring those memories can be enjoyed for many years after they were taken.
