About drumedison
I am Edison Estrella Cobo, and I was born in Quito, Ecuador. My interest in particular is the world itself. I had the opportunity to travel in my childhood due to my father’s job, and since then I have never stop my hungry for traveling and knowing everything I can.
My passion for photography began with the influence of my two sisters, each one in her unique way of thinking and living. They are my mentor and they were my teachers in so many ways as far as I can remember. Indeed, my whole family has been instrumental in supporting my life and particularly my interest in all the arts.
I have been living in Mexico DF for nine years, and now as a Mexican I want to share my perspective of the world as an interpreter of the reality. This is also equivalent as a musician, looking every day for a new sound and new melodies, as well as a musical performer (dedicated to percussion) interpreting someone's minds and feelings. I do not do photography or music. I'm trying to do art itself.
This opportunity for me will let me learn about photography for real, and with one of a kind photographer. I have always been visual, also in the music. I love to see the photos and photography on videos or movies, this sensibility to see and observe is the first interaction with the universe that we know, so please we need to be very special on what we want to see. Thanks to National Geographic for taking care of that issue. But also the interaction between all the senses makes the life come vivid and expressive, taking a picture is a quest to capture these moments, where life becomes beyond the reasoning, and the senses and instincts shiver all our body seeing , feeling, hearing, knowing, smelling, or savoring something that makes all worthwhile. This is what I want.
Life is vacation of death is a journal idea that means the importance of the meaning of life. Why we are here and what are we looking for. These images just are what they are, not more, not less, it´s a path that I choose for see the joy of art and the inevitable course of time. I offer my qualities as an artist that loves music, photography, paintwork, theater and almost everything well-done. My vision is wide and I can do my best to demonstrate art in the scenes.
