I have grown up in a village in Tajikistan, and consequently, was the witness of seeing how the travelers, in old, battered, unwashed clothes were climbing the mountain which is located behind our house. The beauty of our mountains has been always attracting people from all over the world. I always loved travelling. The idea of riding a bicycle or travelling by car into a long distance always made me crazy. I was so excited about the wonderful thing that I will see on my way. Once I travelled to Kyrgyzstan by car with my friends, and it was unspeakable experience.
Travelling is always as good as the tasty kurutob (one of the most admirable national food in Tajikistan). It is never boring, and you never come back from your journey as you were before. While you travel every single thing matters; the houses, the grass, the stones, the people, and what you eat, what you see and what you do. The time when I travelled to Kyrgyzstan with my friends, our feelings were just so fantastic. Can you imagine? You move 10 kms seeing only gray rocks, sand and a blue, like a sky, river flowing between the borders of Tajikistan and Afghanistan. And then, later you cross by a spot of a territory where even the short grass is so unexpectedly green. This consequent order of a short distance of a territory followed by rocks and then green grass everywhere, made me feel different emotions and feelings. The feelings were mainly happiness, calmness, curiosity, memories, and sometimes anxiety. The green part was always about seeing trees, gardens, houses, cows and ships eating the grass and kids playing. The gray part, let's call it this way, is the territory full of rocks, mountains, and some plains where wind blows the send right and left side. Even looking at the mountains and everything surrounded it looks so amazing and calm that you want to stay there forever.
