My Scholarship entry - Concrete Jungle...

I have had an amazingly blessed life learning about and experiencing many different cultures around the world. My wife and I do as much traveling and photography as we can.
I love to make comparisons between first and third world countries, the ways of life, traditions, rawness of cultures, and understandings of the basics of survival.
Born in South Africa and now living in New Zealand, I have the opportunities to create something of myself that many are not able to pursue, or don't chose to. I am always blown away by the "problems" that people in first world countries create for themselves. And I strive to demonstrate that there are others out there who survive on a lot less and are happier in life for it, especially if they are able to follow their passions.
Sometimes I do question peoples situations though, like living in one of the most expensive Concrete Jungles in the world, Sydney, but begging for money to survive, mirrored with complaining about pricing but wanting to have the newest and best in technology, all paid for on credit, is it always a forced reality? Or a lifestyle choice?
I would love to experience the rawness of the Peruvian Amazon, as well as learn as much as possible from Jason, who no doubt has seen and experienced so much, both in photography as well as worldly life...
