Lurol Festival, Tongren

Sang (an incense of juniper mixed with flour) is sprinkled on to the offerings. Everything, from food to clothing, is sacrificed on a pyre. In accordance to Bon tradition there would originally have been a blood sacrifice too. However, the Lurol festival has had to be tamed since it's recent resurgence following banishment during the Cultural Revolution.
