Circumnavigating and gracing the Galapagos archipelego was undoubtedly one of the greatest experiences to write home about to this day that I have ever experienced. Although the islands are on average a mere seven million years old, they have nurtured some of the most extraordinary and beautiful species of endemic life to grace our planet.
I circumnavigated the Galapagos islands in twelve days discovering natural treasures beyond my wildest imagination. The birdlife, sea lions, turtles, iguanas both in and out of the water casually ignored our human presence and allowed me to capture up close magnificent portraits of unaltered landscapes of the Galapagos biology undisturbed and unchanged as it has been for centuries. Hopping from island to island educated me of the ill effects human visitation and habitation has had on the islands over the centuries and of the new strict conservation measures now in place to protect the environments and restore ecosystems to their former natural states.
If anyone is going to roll that heathen jungle or mountain peak with some of the necessary level of unrelenting panache it deserves, look no further. If it's the roll-up-your-sleeves people who get dirty, climb a moss ridden tree and hang like a monkey to get the angle a projected or reflected shot needs to inspire, I will go the distance. I love photography and want to learn more to get the most out of my art. It has been my most favourite PASSION other than graphic design and branding, which I do for my daily bread. A great photo captures a moment in time and bottles a location and frames emotion in a time capsule for all to see. A photo can inspire and evoke change on this wonderful planet and I truly wish to learn the finer crafts to do that well.
