My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

This trip was a spontaneous one, as the best ones always are. I was going through a real tough phase at the time, and didn't know where my life was going; who i wanted to be. There's something intangible in the way seeing such infinite beauty changes your perspective of things. and for me, ladakh was just that. In the recent past, with the floods and all the damage done, it makes that place and it's people even more special. I came back with memories that cannot be captured, be it in words or photographs. But everytime i see these photographs, it takes me back to what was easily the closest i've come to heaven on earth.
Since the trip last year, i moved to Cape Town and only just moved back. Amazing things have happened to me in this past year, but it all started with that trip. It sort of made me realise how enduring the human spirit is, and how beauty is everywhere. So, I'm going back to Cape Town, to study film making, and be able to capture that incredible beauty that really is everywhere.
And i feel like the best way to get started with that is to be mentored by world class photographers. What started off as a hobby has now become a passion, and nothing would make me more equipped to do justice to this form of art than to be able to experience something like this, and learn things i can carry with me always!
