Hello! My name is Deopriy Agarwal and I was born in a business family in Kolkata, India. During my growing up years all my friends and family have encouraged me to take up our family business, as the field of art and filmmaking seemed not very lucrative. After my secondary schooling I attended a part-time one-year photography course in Kolkata and this course cemented my love for the art of making images. I bought my first second hand Vivitar SLR camera with two lenses and started exploring the landscapes of rural Bengal. I have been very close to nature and have been traveling and making travel videos from my Sony hi8 handycam since my college days. I have realized that my biggest passion is making documentaries and travel films about people, culture, places and traditions of the world. Travel films are very difficult to make and it requires a deep understanding about the place, people and their culture. At the end of the day i am a stroryteller, that's all i know.
