My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
South Korea | Monday, December 10, 2012 | 5 photos
Well, first off I am older than most of your applicants. I am 40 years old and have been taking photos for the last 10. I was an English teacher in South Korea. While I was there I took up photography as way to capture what I was seeing around me.
Over the years I go involved with the expat photo community and became a big part of their works to the point where I was judging expat photo contests. I also, in my spare time, wrote and took photos for a travel magazine for two years. I did not make anywhere near 25% of the my income from it. I have had photos on Cnngo's travel website and won the right to have one of my photos used as advertising for the Festival Du Cugand an international dance festival is France. I have over 1 million hits on flickr.
I got to the point where I felt I was good enough at photography to go back to school for it and make it my profession so I quit my job and now I am back in Canada at a photography school.
You should pick me because this is more than an experiment for me to find out what I want to do with my life. It is my life. What means the most to me is seeing that look of wonder that plays across someones face when they see one of my photos.
