THE Trip - Finally

Kiss It!

IRELAND | Friday, 12 March 2010 | Views [316]

I figured that it was about time (I have been in Cork over a week now) that I went to kiss the Blarney Stone. The Kiwi and I set out nice and early (11am) and I have to say it was lovely to have a travelling companion after exploring alone for so long. Blarney Castle was really beautiful, kissing the stone was strange and kind of ‘touristy’ but the whole trip was made all the more interesting because of my wonderful travel buddy – and some rather nice trail mix. Travel tip – take little packets of nuts and/or dried fruit everywhere. It will stop you feeling peckish and spending too much money on rubbish snacks!

When we returned to the hostel after a quick stop at Tescos for some dinner, we discovered that our Aussie roomie who had left that morning had been replaced by another Aussie. It’s true, we really are everywhere. So here we are, two Aussies and a Kiwi hanging out in a hostel in Ireland sharing a cheap pizza. Life is grand!
