Catching a Moment

Pedal in motion. Commotion.
As I drove by the valley, the beasts of Kathmandu is steering, wheeling in all directions. I became an underdog in a massive battalion of roaring machines. Traffic lights became optional. As I gauged myself to turn right on the rotunda, I found myself spinning in the madness of cars careening simultaneously. Juggling in my mind is a virtual map to old Bhaktapur, a challenging 20 kilometers ride away.
Pedal in motion. Direction.
Turn left, left, straight, left, right, straight, left. All of a sudden, my view shifted to rice fields, stone houses, barns and haystacks. I rechecked my map and it seems that I already passed by the cross road. I am in the wrong direction. I am not worried. Refreshing sights of green and yellow hues, turquoise blue cues the sky. A laid back contrast of the bustling city central. I am relieved.
Pedal in motion. Redirection.
Turned back, left, straight, left, left. Shifted into a lush view of the woods, oaks and pines towering from my perspective. The road is inclined to a higher altitude as I move in a forward direction. Cool breeze breaks into my face, as my turbulence came up roaring fast, downhill to a cozy nature park. As I move gently, I glimpse into a lake crystallizing the light reflecting the sun's rays shifting to the smiles of children walking home from school and drifting to the glorious views of the Himalayas.
Pedal in motion. Destination.
Old bricks of brown and maroon, a sign of destination. The nostalgic breathe of air affirms an atmospheric mood of reminiscing. And into the vast pavement lies the awe-inspiring Newari architecture soaring like intricate models of sculptures enclosed inside a well-kept vault of historic beauty. People moved as if in a choreographed motion that seems fluid in existence. It was a triumphant sight of graceful beauty. The smell of old wood, chai tea & oil lamps championed my journey, a momentary bliss captured by a faulty camera in my mind.
Pedal in motion. Resignation.
