After eight-and-a-half years in New York City, I transported myself to the opposite end of the American spectrum; I moved to Hawaii.
I have always been the prototypical New Yorker: work-obsessed, ambitious, and perpetually on the move. Yet, in January, 2014 I sold off my things and hopped on a one-way flight to a tiny island in the middle of the ocean.
Since then, I have been traveling the U.S. and Canada through an array of seasonal jobs and work exchanges. I have fallen in love with a lifestyle that allows me to explore new places while saving money for the next adventure.
In just over a year I’ve managed to cross the country several times and to visit an abundance of beautiful places.
