My name is Declan and I am 26 years of age. I live in the North west of Ireland surrounded buy a rugged coastline with some of the best kept beaches and highest sea cliffs in Europe. I enjoy hillwalking, mountain climbing and surfing to name a few but most of all I enjoy taking photographs. I first started out using film and later made the transfer to digital. I regularly read books on photography and basically self taught myself using the internet. I have been a member of out local photography club over the past 2 years and submitted a number of photographs to our annual exhibitions. The reason I love photography so much is because you have so much control over your medium. Composition, lead lines, colour, uniqueness are all things I look for in a photograph. I like natural photographs with little or no editing. Getting things right in camera is a main factor in what I try to achieve. Why should I be chosen? Because I have the drive and the passion to make the most out of what is set out before me. I would love the opportunity to be guided by one of the best and learn as much as I could from the experience. National Geographic would be a dream to work for.
