Passport & Plate - Tongseng Sapi

Ingredients
"Tongseng Sapi"

ingredients:
- 250 grams of beef, choose with less fat, cut into pieces the size of 2 x 2 cm.
- 3 leaves of cabbage, chopped coarse
- 2 red tomatoes, diced
- 2 finely chopped leeks
- 500 ml of water

Condiments, puree:
- 5 grains curly red chili
- 4 grains of cayenne red
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 4 spring onions
- 1 teaspoon pepper grains
- 1 vertebra ginger
- 4 grains pecans, toasted
- Oil for frying

Other spices:
- 3 lime leaves, torn
- 1 stalk lemongrass, messed it
- 1 tablespoon curry powder
- 3/4 tablespoon salt, add if less salty
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon of bouillon powder (optional)
- Sliced chili, if less spicy

 

How to prepare this recipe
How to make:
Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil, put spices, lime leaves and lemongrass. Stir-fry until fragrant and change color. Put the beef, stir-fry and stir until the meat changes color.

Add water, salt, sugar, curry powder and bouillon powder, and cook until the meat is tender and the sauce slightly shrink. Put the soy sauce and stir well. Add cabbage, and cayenne pepper slices (if used) and cook until wilted cabbage leaves and half-baked. Add leeks, stir and taste great. Put the tomatoes, turn off the burner and lift "Tongseng".

"Tongseng" ready to be served with warm rice.

Sapi means beef. It can be changed with chicken or lamb.

 

The story behind this recipe
This is my fave dish to eat especially when on rainy days. The warm and tasty sauce inside make my belly warm and also full. The taste is great, riches of herbs and spices. You should allow me to prove it to you :)
