Venturing to the Unknown

Thank You

Before my first official post, I think it’s important that I take some time to express my appreciation. With what little wisdom I possess, I am able to understand that I am not the one who is largely responsible for this journey. There have been various forces and influences that have acted upon me in the twenty one years that I have spent on this earth. Without these, my present adventure would be nothing more than a dream…

Thank You:

To my parents. For 21 years of love and support. Never once did you doubt me, never once did you try to kill my dream. Thank you for believing in me. To my friends and family, whose presence in my life has helped shape me into the man that I am today. To my brothers in Christ, for eternal bonds of fellowship that will never be broken. To Brian and Paul, who always encouraged me to dream big and live free. To the special girl in my life whom I adore and cherish…We have quite a journey ahead of us. Thank you for giving this crazy long distance thing a shot. Finally and most importantly, to the creator of the universe, the lion of Judah, the wellspring of life. Without you I am nothing. You make dreams become reality…

Dear David,
I just read your journal, and saw your pictures.
What an exciting time you are having! Your Uncle Jim and I always had similar ideas to both you and Donald Miller. Life is an adventure to be lived! I know we could have stayed home, and spent more time and money on our home, etc., but we chose to travel. When the children were growing up, we camped and visited all Lower 48 states. I'll never forget the first time Carl did not go with us. He was working, was 17 years old, and saving for a car and college. He cried when we left and so did we! After the kids were gone, we chaperoned for the youth in our churches in Ohio to go to Washington, D.C., New York, and Philadelphia. Then we ventured out to Europe several times, China, the Holy Land, Greek Isles, Mexicao, a mission trip in Costa Rica, etc. We never regretted any of our travels. What a wonderful world God has given us! I can only encourage you to keep pursuing your dreams!

I have always thought you would make a wonderful minister, and I still do. However, after reading your facinating, and very well written journal, have you ever thought of writing? Maybe as a hobby, if not as a way of making money! Although, I think you would do very well.

I enjoyed your pictures also, and am looking forward to future additions to your journal and picture "gallery".

I am so very proud of you, and admire you, very much.

Love, Aunt Shirley
