Where to start?
4 months has passed since coming to Thailand to teach English at a government school. School is just about to break up for holidays which means I say goodbye and begin my travels with Michelle. Preparations are underway for our travels up north to Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son; and then down south to Ko Tao, Ko Samui and Krabi. Should be good fun.
The teachers here have been wonderful. They are such naturally kind people. The students have been a mixed bag of lollies...just like anywhere in the world I guess! Teaching them has been a challenge, yet interesting. It is actually a nice welcoming change after 2 years of teaching shy, quiet students in Japan.
I've taught my last class but still going in to school till the end of Feb. At the moment the students have exams and we get to hang out in the staff room learning how to cook Thai food from the teachers...oh life is hard! Especailly after 3 consecutive days of eating sticky rice with mango.
