Wheat is a major crop in the region, and one of great importance for many Mapuche families. An older woman explained the process of harvesting wheat and how it had changed over the years.

One morning a young cow wandered away from its mother. Not knowing where to go, it stood in the middle of the road and called for her. Cows are a precious commodity for the farmers and would have been sorely missed had it not found its mother and returned home.

A husband and wife brought their young children along in a traditional wooden cart. This cart would also be used as a way to carry supplies and livestock.
