Though many people in the Mapuche community earn their living through agriculture, some are artisans. This market in Temuco Chile sells a variety of their hand-made goods.

This woman had traveled a long way to see a visiting dentist from the United States. Afterwords, she placed her son on her head and began her long walk home.

One morning a young cow wandered away from its mother. Not knowing where to go, it stood in the middle of the road and called for her. Cows are a precious commodity for the farmers and would have been sorely missed had it not found its mother and returned home.
