Darryl David Putter, 23, South African. I live in a small town in the Karoo surrounded by nature. A family of six and a couple close friends keep me happy. I’m a somewhat quite guy, only say what needs saying but don’t mistake that for weakness, I know I can do anything if I put my mind to it.
A little background: School years were spent doing what was needed; sports for fitness and Scouts got me outdoors. Although it was in primary school I decided on photography and nature as a career. It wasn’t until after school that I truly pursued it. I joined Media Village and the first order of business was training and a volunteer mission’s trip to Uganda. Now we traveled a lot as a family but I think this trip opened my mind to the world and travel. After more studies and formalities I joined Cruise ships for a year the travel was good and places amazing but portraiture work and rushed trips to shore left me unsatisfied. This brings us to now.
So why should you mentor me? Because that’s exactly what I’m looking for. I want to assist and learn from the best so that I can reach my full potential. I want to put time and effort into my pictures. I have no desire to be stuck in a rut scrambling for underpaying jobs on uninspired shoots. I want to make photography my lifestyle and share the things I see, emotions I feel. Who knows what the future holds but I want it to be filled with interesting people, places and photography.
