My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
New Zealand | Saturday, June 29, 2013 | 5 photos
I am currently employed part time as a PADI Dive Instructor/Aquarist at Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium and a Co-ordinator for the New Zealand Trust for Conservation Volunteers Organisation.
I am also in my third year of study towards a Bachelor of Science (with a double major in Marine Biology and Environmental Science) and hold an overall A+ average. Over the last five years I have taught myself basic skills in photography, camera work and editing whilst attending high school and university with the hopes of working in the science communication industry. I have received a number of awards for my own personal creative endeavors including:
•Consistent Excellence grades during Level 2 and 3 in both Media Studies and Photography and NCEA Outstanding Scholarship in Photography.
•Auckland Art Award 2010
•Offered YouTube partnership in 2010
•Won 2012 NZ national photography competition
My goal is to become a global science communicator and the opportunity to work with a professional within the industry would be an amazing opportunity and would help me to enhance my current skills and enthusiasm in the field to work towards my future goals! As cheesy as it sounds, I want to change the world!
