My whimsical wanderings where are we going? I don't know, I thought you knew. No, I don't know. Maybe he knows. No. He definitely doesn't know. Maybe no-one knows. Oh well. I hope it's nice when we get there.

day in Singapore

Got an early morning flight so had a good 4/5 hours in Singapore. Obvious thing to do was to put my bags in left luggage so i could go off into town....um, yes, well just so you know left luggage is on Basement 2 in terminal 1, there is one in terminal 2 too, but i didn't know that. Had a bit of a faff looking for it, back and forth between various terminals. I also faffed around looking for a mythical free tour bus for transit passengers, found the right place in the other terminal, but cleverly i'd left my ticket in left luggage (as you do) so instead of offering me alternative suggestions the tourist info man was INCREDIBLY rude and condescending. RUDE. MEAN MAN. Never mind. So i went into town on the MRT, had no idea where to get off but picked a station in the hopes of walking from there to Raffles and seeing some pretty buildings on the way, a good plan, but since the rude mean man had been so unpleasant and unhelpful i had no map so i couldn't find it...didn't want to get lost so after some aimless wandering went into the Raffles shopping centre (surely close by??) and had lunch. I got lost in there so would've had no chance on the streets! Oh well, it was nice to leave the airport - or so i thought. As it turned out, during my search around the airport for someone to help me connect to the internet i came across....a swimming pool!!!!!! In the airport!!! On the roof! It looked lovely! I coulda spent a very pleasant day there i'm sure, lots of nice restaurants and a nice relaxing swim. Sigh. Next time.
