in the adjacent valley we get a taste of the intended fate: clear-felling and burn-offs to make way for mono-culture plantations

dappled light in the endangered zone. all this forest in inside scheduled logging coupes.
it was really hard to capture the forest in such contrasting light, i was hoping it would be the forecast cloudy day, i should have just photographed pre-dawn.

although the sapling may look like new hope, it is in fact the reason for the destruction, and these mono cultures of Eucalyptus nitens will choke the land with their toxins, and the forestry industry will poison the animals so they don't eat the crop.
