There are two things I really love doing. That’s travelling and filming. I’ve tried always to join these two passions in order to tell human stories from a personal point of view.
The first time I did it was when a musician friend asked me to film him in his country house while he was composing a song. For 48 hours, our creative processes cohabited in that small space and the outcome was not only a song and a short film but an incredible weekend surrounded by the amazing landscapes of this cold and windy country. Thanks to a grant, I tried later to repeat this kind of experience with a friend and creative partner. We both did a road trip through Texas and Lousiana while we were following the traces of some Spanish pioneers from the 19th Century. Eventually, what we filmed was a portrait of the people and places we found during that unforgettable four weeks.
After these first attempts, this assignment would bring for me the opportunity to explore a new country and document the journey with such a mentor as Brian Rapsey. Learning from a professional in such a special country as Colombia will make of this trip a perfect chance to find inspiring characters and exciting stories. These ingredients will make me share every new step with a personal vision, with a fresh and vibrant film that could connect with a wider audience. A film to make everyone feel a slice of my excitement for this vital learning experience and this Caribbean paradise.
