Today I am just going to lounge around the hotel, update my blog and take a rest from being hassled by street vendors. If you are looking to buy a loneley planet guidebook, a scooter ride to anywhere you want, or a personal guide, then Hanoi is the place for you ;-)
In general I have found the people in Vietnam to be very friendly and I think the constant hassle by street vendors is just a reflection of Vietnam's relative youth in the tourism industry.
I am finding the contradiction between the social politics and the obviously capitalist retail and service industries quite strange.
I read today in the newspaper that there is a typhoon due to hit tomorrow, so not sure if my flight to Hue will be a go or not.
