My Photo scholarship 2010 entry
Vietnam | Wednesday, October 13, 2010 | 5 photos
The five photographs I have carefully chosen represent significant moments in my trip to Vietnam. I have specifically decided on the ones displayed, as I found a certain magic in how they are open to interpretation. There is however one definite story that can be drawn from each and that is of what is happening (in a physical sense) at that exact point in time when the photograph was taken.
My love for photography and design goes back as far as I can remember, but since obtaining a professional camera a year ago I have been able to capture more closely life as I see it. My trip to Vietnam allowed me to seek out some of the most amazing locations in the world and by taking the camera along I was able to capture each moment as it happened. The five photographs capture the beauty of Vietnam in a multitude of ways and allow the viewer to appreciate the culture, environment, people, architecture and general vibrant nature of the place.
I have had no real training in photography, or in the use of my camera, but I believe that I have the ability to know a great photo when I see one. If I was to be chosen for this scholarship, I would be the perfect candidate to teach in terms of my natural creative nature, but also in my ability to learn fast. I would benefit greatly from learning photography skills, both camera operating and capturing the perfect shot, as they will come in handy in my chosen profession of Interior Architecture. I would also love to further my collection of photographs for a potential exhibition alongside my other artworks in the future and feel that this opportunity would not go to waste.
